The mind is a powerful thing and the cool thing about the mind is that in of itself it can not tell fantasy from reality. So whatever you put in it, it will believe and act as if. So what’s on your mind? Do you realize that every action that you take, you thought about it first? Yes maam, you did.
So when you allow a person to push your buttons, you thought about it first. You thought about the hurt or rejection you were feeling, you thought about what others might think if you respond in a certain way. In a split second you will be amazed at how many thoughts run through your mind and in the midst of all those thoughts – one will cause you to respond or react.
The thing about the mind is this, it really does not like to work too much so it stores things in the subconscious for immediate recall. That is why you find yourself just doing and saying things sometimes without thinking. Well that is because you have programmed your mind with a file for a particular response in that situation. When you get mad, you might automatically curse, fight or yell WHY because that is what you have always done.
Your subconscious mind main objective is your safety and survival so when it feels threatens it will respond accordingly. Once a response, idea or reaction has been planted and accepted in the subconsious mind, it stays there until you replace it with something else. This is how we form bad habits and destructive patterns or good habits.

ACTION STEP FOR TODAY. Monitor your thinking. Think about a bad file (thinking/response) that you would like to replace. Answer these three questions:
1. How do I currently respond?
2 How would have like to respond?
3. What can I do to ensure this new response?
